Business And Finance Teacher

Primary Purpose: To provide students with knowledge and skills in business concepts, finance, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy through engaging instruction aligned with the district's curriculum and TEKS standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teacher certification in Business and Finance (Grades 6-12)
• Demonstrated knowledge of business principles, computer applications, and career/technical education
• Prior teaching experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Instructional: Develop and deliver lessons aligned with TEKS for business education courses (e.g., Principles of Business, Marketing & Finance; Money Matters; Business Information Management). Utilize technology and project-based learning to engage students in real-world business applications. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Classroom Management: Create a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and campus policies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other CTE staff, core content teachers, and counselors to support student academic and career success. Attend department meetings, ARD/504/RTI meetings as necessary.
• Professional Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and progress. Participate in professional development and implement strategies learned. Comply with all district policies and administrative regulations.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and lifting
• Regular exposure to computer screen time
• May involve local travel for competitions or career events

*Minimum Salary $67,200 for fully certified teachers *Salary is commensurate with experience *Works 187 Day Calendar * Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
